I do not like the English pico voice much, especially at highspeeds, but that's jsut me. I had stability problems when I tried to run non-english pico language on vinux4, and put it on the back burner never to get back to it. Use a command like apt-cache search pico in a terminal or console window and see what you get. It was available for vinux4, and I imagine can be installed on vinux5. Sometimes licensing has been an issuoe with pico/hope that is not the case now with Ubuntu. Sorry, not booted in to Vinux at the moment, but if you need more help write me off list and I'll check on things here/would like the pico Spanish voiceДЄvailable on my Vinux box, never got it to work on Arch myself.

You may need to install the actual speech-dispatcher module for pico, but hopefully it is installed along with the voice itself.
